The Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI) was formally established by the National Science Development Board (NSDB) on January 03, 1967, as an agency to undertake the Textile Research Program. In 1974, by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 1, PTRI became a regular agency of NSDB.
